The EZ-SMD Surface Mount Component Library Organizes Cut-Tape For Easy Identification, Sorting & Dispensing. Get Organized & Reduce Costs By Using The EZ-SMD Surface Mount Component Library.
If you work at a rework station, R&D lab, or even a stockroom that stores small volumes of SMD components (“cut tape”), you know these slippery piles of poly-bags with hand-written part descriptions become a frustrating mess in boxes or drawers—making component identification and selection difficult and time-consuming. The EZ-SMD Storage System transforms your storage and use into a compact, organized and easy-to-use system of dispensers and racks that are fully-adaptable to your workspace and workflow process.
EZ-SMD Storage System Key Features
1. Size
The individual dispensers are compact at 2.76″ (70.1mm) square and 5/8″ (16.3mm) wide. See detailed specs for the EZSMD Dispenser. Plus, a 16.75″ (425.5mm) storage rack holds up to 25 dispensers. See detailed specs for the EZSMD Storage Rack. This reduces the amount of space needed to store supplies of cut tape. The dispensers accommodate tape widths up-to 12mm or approximately 80% of the SMD components on the market today.
2. Material
The dispensers are made from static-dissipative material; ESD plastic.
3. Customized Labels
The dispensers come with three label templates designed with Avery software. These templates can be printed on standard-sized labels that nicely fit the front and sides of the dispensers. Labels are removable, for easy re-labeling. The three templates allow you to choose whatever information you’d like to see on each label, such as component type, footprint, value, tolerance, polarity, inte al part number, reference designation, or bar code. Resellers can replace the CSI logo with their own. Manual labeling is a time-consuming but critical task for most companies who store cut tape in baggies. Using printed labels will reduce the time spent hand-writing and re-writing labels, and facilitates the use of automation technology by adding bar-coding or micro-encoding capability on the labels.
4. Filling
It takes less than a minute to fill a dispenser from a reel or poly-bag. Each dispenser holds up to 1000 components and Its side-window allows viewing of current volume. We recommend loading a predetermined number of components in a dispenser each time it’s filled, then tracking usage by counting the vacant cells on the tape after use, subtracting that number from the number at the start, and adjusting inventory as required.
5. Placement and Operation
Configure the EZ-SMD Storage System however you like—on a wall, under a workbench shelf, on a rolling cart, in a drawer, or on a desktop. Racks can be mounted on top of each other and mounted on a wall in a “library” configuration, or side-by-side, forming a long continuous rack allowing many dispensers to be slid sideways to accommodate insertion of new dispensers. An individual rack can even be used as a “mobile kit,” filled with components needed for a particular job.
How to fill a dispenser
Whether you have one workstation or 50, using this organized system for storing and dispensing SMD components will improve your efficiency and boost your profits.
